Years of Lead

Years of Lead is a ten-episode, absurdist retelling of the Salvadorian Civil War and its American benefactors during the Iran/Contra Affair. In it, we follow Alma Mejia and her unlikely East German co-conspirator Leo Haase as they drum up a band of irregulars and embark on a bloody quest to avenge the political execution of Alma’s family. Meanwhile, Elliott Abrams, Robert McFarlane, Oliver North, and the CIA concoct increasingly bizarre, illegal schemes to upkeep the dictatorship in El Salvador while the whole Iran/Contra Affair unravels.
